The Colne Recipe Book was created as part of the award-winning Food In Pendle Project. A local volunteer group carried out surverys of the Vivary Bridge and Waterside areas of Colne to investigate the eating habits of the inhabitants. In the course of the survey, many people mentioned recipes and hints about cooking that they remembered as children, and it was decided to collect these together for people to enjoy and to promote healthier eating.
The Colne Recipe Book was subsequently produced, printed in full colour and including a recipe specially created by celebrity chef Paul Heathcote. All proceeds from the book go to to the Burnley & Pendle Hospice. In this section you can find sample recipes from the book to try at home. Copies of the Colne Recipe Book are available for £2.50 from the town halls in Nelson, Colne, Barnoldswick and Earby.
