Why conduct an audit?

The 1998 Crime and Disorder Act required all Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships (CDRP) to undertake an audit of crime and disorder in their area every three years.  The Audit is designed to highlight areas of concern which will then be addressed in a strategy document.

What is the audit?

The Audit is a review of both the statistical evidence of crime and disorder and the views of the community about levels of crime and disorder.

Who prepared this audit?

This Audit has been prepared by Pendle Crime & Disorder Reduction Partnership, with assistance from the MADE (Multi-Agency Data Exchange) Project.  Contact details are given at the end of the main report.

Who is the audit for?

This Audit is designed to inform CDRP about crime and disorder issues in its locale, in order to govern its strategy for the next three years.  It will be placed on the saferlancashire website for members of the public and interested parties to view.

What is in the audit?

The audit contains data from all the statutory authorities in Lancashire in order to give as broad a picture of crime and disorder problems in the County as possible.

You can download and read a copy of the Pendle Community Safety Audit here as either a PDF or WORD file.  Please note that you will need Microsoft Word to read Word documents, and Acrobat Reader to read PDF documents.  Acrobat Reader is available free to download on the Internet. Please note that these documents are between 1MB and 2MB in size and will take a long time to download using a dial-up modem connection.
