Pendle is an area of contrasts - brooding moors and sunny meadows, historic buildings and modern facilities.  It is as much a destination for the shopaholic as it is for the country-lover.  Lancashire is an area well-known for its outlet stores and mill shops, and Pendle has more than its fair share, including one of the biggest in the country, and one that is arguably the most picturesque.

Pendle Landscape

Pendle is also extremely well-placed for visiting attractions in several neighbouring counties, so if you're planning a trip to the North-West, take a look at our list of suggested Days Out to help you plan your itinerary.  We have tried to select attractions that are under two hours travel from the area and that are fully accessible by road.
