Applying for funding

If you have a project you think may make a significant contribution to the Partnership’s Programmes your first port of call should be to one of the staff in the Programmes Delivery Team for an informal chat. They will be able to tell you if your project might be eligible for funding and help to advise you on issues such as costing, match funding requirements and outputs. Programmes Delivery Team staff will help you put together an appraisal form, which is a formal bid for money.

Once an appriasal form has been recieved it will be considered by an Appraisal Working Group, which is a panel of people (usually 3) who consider the project in detail and make recommendations to the Partnership. All our appraisers have good local knowldge of the area and usually have experience of regeneration projects. They also recieve appraisal training.

Funding Tips

Our appraisers are looking for a number of factors when deciding whether a project should proceed including:
• Will the project contribute to meeting Partnership objectives?
• Does it offer good value for money?
• Does it complement and add value to existing provision?
• Does the project already have funding from other sources (match funding)?
• Is it likely to be sustainable in the long term?
