Reedley Hallows Parish Council has been established for over 100 years. The area of the Parish is smaller than the Ward boundary of Reedley and is a mix of urban and rural aspects.
Pendle currently has 16 Parish Councils and with an electorate of 1591 at September 2008, Reedlley Hallows is one of the largest Parish Councils by population, in the Pendle Borough.
Currently there are seven Councillors working for the residents of the Parish. We presently (2009) have one vacancy for a Councillor and would welcome interest from any resident who would consider joining us and to help share the workload. Each Councillor has their own area of particular interest and experience, which can be used for the benefit of the community.
The Parish Council's activities are mainly about planning issues, the local environment, Pendle and Lancashire County Council service delivery to residents, together with local crime and safety issues.
Parish Councillors attend meetings of the Borough Council, PACT (Community Safety Partnership) and other local organisations to represent residents.
The Council is particularly keen to hear the views of local residents and to know what YOU want. To pass on any of your concerns, comments or suggestions please contact either the Clerk or any of the Councillors directly.
