Coaching Education and Development

In partnership with Lancashire Sport we assist with staging a series of training courses for coaches to attend to develop their coaching.  Follow the link for more details of courses running over the next 12 months.

ECB Level 2 Coaching Course – Norden Sports College, Rishton.
Jan 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, Feb 4th, 11th 2007.  Cost £220.
ECB Level 1 Coaching Course – Norden Sports College , Rishton
Feb 11th, 18th, 25th, Mar 4th.  Cost £180

Hyndburn Cricket Development Group

The group is made up of members of the Sports Development Team and local cricket clubs and those keen on the development of the game, they meet 4-6 times per year and are responsible for organising schools kwik-cricket tournaments, indoor leagues and the Boroughs District Cricket Team.

Hyndburn Soccer Task Force

The award winning Hyndburn Soccer Task Force has been making great strides helping to improve and drive the game in the borough since it started and recently secured a grant through the Football Foundation to run a range of courses locally in the Borough.

The Group meets throughout the year and is chaired by John Drinkwater, if you would like to join the groups please do not hesitate to get in touch with George Cull.

Lancashire Young Volunteers Programme

The Lancashire Young Volunteers Programme is a scheme to encourage young people aged between 16 and 24 to dedicate voluntary time to helping sports clubs and activity to take place.  By logging a series of voluntary hours you will qualify for rewards such a t-shirts and fleeces and subsidies to attend training courses.  This programme is ideal for anyone wanting to go into the sports industry.  Please see the attached flyer .

Lancashire Sports Partnership

The partnership is made up of the 14 boroughs of Lancashire plus governing bodies of sport, education, EFDS, Myerscough College, Edge Hill College, Sport England, School Sports Partnerships, Crime Reduction Agencies, Primary Care Trusts (plus many more) and Hyndburn's Sports Development Team is a key partner.

The pinnacle of the sporting year is the Lancashire Youth Games which will take place at Stanley Park, Blackpool on Saturday 30th June 2007.  Keep checking back to find further information on the biggest multi-sports event in the County.

Hyndburn Sports Awards

Keep checking back for details of the 2007 Sports Awards which are likely to take place in July 2007.  Don’t miss your chance to nominate a coach, volunteer or club who deserve to be recognised for their efforts, or even put forward your ‘Rising Star’, a young athlete showing great potential in their sport.
