There are currently 13 Conservation Areas in Pendle with architectural or historic interest. A list of conservation areas in Pendle is available for public inspection at Nelson Town Hall.
Trees in Conservation Areas (subject to some exceptions, including small trees and ones that are dead or dangerous) are protected and treated in a similar manner to those covered by a Tree Preservation Order. You must give the Council six weeks' notice before carrying out any work on trees in a conservation area. Contact the Planning Officer (Environmental Improvement) in Planning & Building Control on (01282) 661729.

Lists of both listed buildings and conservation areas in the Borough are available for public inspection within Planning & Building Control at Nelson Town Hall.
