Canal Regeneration
The regeneration of the Nelson and Brierfield sections of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal is a major environmental objective for the SRB6 regeneration programme.
Pendle Partnership has made more than £600,000 available for the canal regeneration which has paid for a various consultations and feasibility studies, a Canal Corridor Development Co-ordinator, a Small Projects Fund and a Large Projects Fund.
Projects that have already been funded include a heritage trail, educational work on the Kennet Canal Boat, a healthy walks project, and the Quarry Hill nature area.
