The vision of Pendle Active Communities is to provide equal opportunities for all to achieve an active lifestyle.
The Aim
The aim is to use sport to engage those who feel most excluded from society into creating an effective community infrastructure to enable that active lifestyle.
The Objectives are :-
· To encourage partnership working with other agencies
· To give the community a voice
· To provide opportunities for participation in sport and recreation
· To support voluntary community involvement
· To provide training opportunities
· To empower the community
The focus areas for this Project are :-
· Brierfield
· Walverden
· Vivary
· Waterside
· Curriculum and after school coaching
· Festivals linked to above work
· Holiday programmes for 8 to 12 year olds and 12 to 17 year olds in above wards (outreach and facility based)
· Work out in the community with a view to engagement in youth programmes from youth nuisance hot spots.
· Delivery of Accredited Learning Programmes.
· Education workshops i.e Community Sports Leaders Course, Child Protection and Governilng Body Qualifications etc

Strengthening Pendles Sporting Infrastructure
The units role of influencing, enabling and leading has taken significant steps to improving Pendles sporting infrastructure in the following areas
· Volunteer support
· Coach Support
· Club Support
To deliver area trials and support teams who go forward to represent Pendle in various sports at the County Games.
A resource to enhance awareness of where Pendle residents can access Sports Clubs in Pendle
