Pendle Leisure Trust is proud to present its' innovative range of 'active' sessions,

designed to get the youth of today fit through fun exercise.

The active sessions centre around three interactive games - supplied by Colne based Zig Zag PTE - and packaged by Pendle Leisure Trust as danceactive; activewall and activebox.

Each active session is held at Pendle Leisure Centre in Colne and is designed to:

• Improve sporting skills such as target practice
• Build stamina and core stability
• Enhance hand/eye co-ordination
• Boost cardio vascular function
• Improve balance
• Strengthen muscle groups
• Increase general fitness levels

Each child's active session incorporates a fitness circuit that includes danceactive; activewall and activebox.

The 'activewall' is a computerised sports wall providing hundreds of timed challenges. Players compete against each other to score the highest number of points by hitting a series of electronically lit targets. Extra points are awarded for accuracy and rapidity. Individuals can play against each other whilst relay challenges provide the perfect platform for team building exercise.

Danceactive

Danceactive is the latest craze in the world of electronic fun fitness. 16 danceactive dance mats are located in Pendle Leisure Centre's XR-Cade and offer players thousands of dance routines with a variety of fitness levels. The XR-Cade provides a fantastic environment for players to participate with special lighting installed as well as a fantastic sound system to enthuse and exhilarate each player.

Activeboxes

Activeboxes are essentially X Box stations that work on resistance. Activated by the body, rather than by thumbs, the activeboxes function as players push and pull on the console, which in turn builds inner core stability.

A range of children's after school sessions run throughout the week and cost only £3 per session - plus you get a free swim thrown in too!
