Beating The Bounds - REEDLEY HALLOWS
It contains, I believe, our steepest path in what, for me, is Pendle's hidden gem - Spurn Clough. In days of yore there was a delightful path up the Clough but the extension of the sewage works blocked it (and lack of use rapidly returned it to nature) and, after these were completed, it was felt that the necessary work to re-open it could not be carried out as (most deservedly) the clough had become a Biological Heritage Site. Please enjoy it - the flora (particularly in Spring) and fauna can be wonderful. My photos cannot do it justice. Start: The main road in Reedley near Reedley Drive and the Magistrates Court Length: 7k Height Gain: under 100m Time: 2 hours Grade: Easy The following links will open in a new plain window for easy printing.
