HomeWelcome to Pendle Partnership's website. Pendle Partnership is Pendle's Local Strategic Partnership (LSP). It is committed to making life better in Pendle. The Partnership draws its members from a wide range of backgrounds and communities including public sector agencies, local businesses, elected councillors, Pendle's voluntary and community sector and other partnerships in Pendle. Together they represent all parts of Pendle. Many of the challenges in Pendle can only be overcome if people and organisations are prepared to work together more effectively and tackle issues holistically. Members of the Partnership collectively identify Pendle's strategic needs and priorities. They then work together, and with others, to encourage partnership working which will meet these needs and help to improve the quality of life for people in Pendle. One of the Partnership's main activities is to reduce inequalities in the borough by coordinating regeneration activity in Pendle. It directly administers some regeneration programmes and seeks to influence other regeneration activity and funding in Pendle. The Partnership has attracted approximately £50m of regeneration funding to the area since 1996. Together with other public and private sector funds this will mean that an anticipated £160m will be have been spent on regeneration in the area between 1996 and 2009. The money has already helped the Partnership to make some significant achievements, particularly with the economic regeneration of the area. The Partnership also aims to encourage service providers to absorb the costs of regeneration activity within their mainstream budgets (or to use the jargon 'mainstreaming'), so that regeneration activity can continue once time limited regeneration funding comes to an end. The Partnership began life as a regeneration partnership in 1995, but in April 2002 it was reconstituted as Pendle's Local Strategic Partnership with additional responsibilities for co-ordinating partnership working across the borough, reducing duplication in public service delivery and identifying ways to 'plug the gaps' in mainstream public service delivery. Pendle Partnership's work is supported by Pendle Council's Corporate Strategy and Partnerships Unit and other support staff. Contact us for further information.
