Walking In Pendle

This website (which is still under construction) has been designed to show just some of the beautiful area we live in.  There are some examples of the “Beating The Bounds” walks round the Parishes of Pendle. Photos taken on the Pendle Walking Festivals plus others of some of the beautiful and historical features of the Borough.

The notes and comments with the historical photos are necessarily short (but, I hope, accurate) and you can easily do further research on most of them on the web.

Please don't hesitate to suggest any improvements and - particularly - to point out any inaccuracies you may find - nearly every time I do a walk there's always some minor change somewhere.

I hope that the site will encourage you to try out some of the walks yourself – and to join us on the Pendle Walking Festival normally held on the first weekend in September.  Such has been the success of previous Festivals in 2009 it will once again be for 9 days from Saturday 5th September to Sunday 13th September.

Throughout the year there is a Bowland Festival which will include a witches walk and I'll be leading a trip up Pendle - all from Barley. In September I expect there to be another South Pennines Festival and I'll probably be leading a couple of walks in that.
